The national offices of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), based in Louisville Kentucky, serve with mid-councils, congregations, worshipping communities, and partner organizations to carry forth the mission of Jesus Christ. This community comprises the staff of several national entities: the Office of the General Assembly, Presbyterian Investment and Loan Corporation, the Presbyterian Mission Agency, the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation, Presbyterian Women, and the Administrative Services Group. Join a community of gifted and caring professionals to work closely with the Deputy Executive for Vision and Innovation and the Director of the Center for Repair of Historic Harms for in the Executive Director?s Office of the Presbyterian Mission Agency.

Position Purpose:

Coordinate and manage a variety of administrative and programmatic efforts within the Center for Repair of Historic Harms (started in 2022) and the Office of Innovation (starting in 2023). These new ministries work with a wide variety of constituencies across the church to repair the damage the church has caused in the past and to innovate fresh ways of being church and approaching ministry in partnership with mid-councils, congregations, new worshipping communities and their leaders This position requires both warmth, hospitality, interpersonal effectiveness as well as efficiency, thoroughness, and making potentially complex processes smooth and accessible

Responsibilities:

1. Support and encourage the mission, vision, identity, values and mission work plan of the Presbyterian Mission Agency in attitude, work ethic, behaviors, and relationships.

2. Oversee the operations and associated projects of the Office of Innovation and Center for Repair including:
  • Distributed staff coordination
  • Volunteer contributor relationships, onboarding and coordination
  • Databases (CRM) and online presence of both ministries.
  • Researching and implementing additional tools and processes (tech and operational) to ensure excellence and responsiveness in internal operations and constituent service.
  • Project management for implementing organizational systems and processes.
  • Travel planning and operations for staff and volunteers.
3. Align and systematize the organization and operations of OI and CfR so that these emerging ministries develop and maintain consistent & reliable rules of engagement, organization, reporting, & processes that build integrity, clarity about essential priorities, and excellence in partnership and service delivery.

4. Coordinate assignments & priorities for director-level staff in order to maintain efficient scheduling and ensure each person is functioning at their highest, unique capacity to contribute.

5. Systematically evaluate constituent satisfaction with the service and partnership of CfR and OI and make operational and service adjustments to achieve excellence in impact and engagement.

6. Serve as a member of the Office of the Executive Director, participating in collaborative efforts for the good of the organization.

7. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's/undergraduate degree required, graduate education preferred.
  • 2 or more years experience in operations, management, organizational systems development.
  • Knowledge of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). A member of an active congregation of the Presbyterian Church, U.S.A. is especially helpful in this work.
  • Fluency in Spanish or Korean along with English is a plus.
Required Skills:
  • Solid understanding of high-quality constituent service, organizational systems for cloud-based data sharing, & project management.
  • Operationalize services, processes and delighting constituents.
  • Willing and able to work with a geographically distributed team and travel occasionally.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Physical Requirements:

This is largely a sedentary position that may require occasional filing and lifting up to 15 pounds. Requires the ability to see, hear, speak, type, write, walk, stand, bend and lift. This is a full-time position.

Sensory and physical requirements include the ability to communicate verbally in person and by telephone and the ability to read and understand written materials. Ability to communicate in a manner suitable to a church office environment.
