Data Engineer, US Remote (Part-Time)

Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Part-Time Contract Data Engineer. This is a 100% remote role!
The Data Engineer will work closely with the Research, Evaluation, and Data team to support data migration via AWS and optimize data infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the security, accuracy, and accessibility of data that supports insights into sexual, emotional, and physical abuse within sports.
Responsibilities: ?? Lead and manage data migration processes within AWS environments (Athena, Snowflake, etc.). ?? Build and optimize data infrastructure to support reporting, security, and accessibility. ?? Write, optimize, and manage complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and reporting schemas. ?? Build and monitor APIs to facilitate smooth data ingestion and reporting. ?? Develop KPIs, dashboards, and scheduled reports to maintain data integrity and enhance accessibility. ?? Implement data validation processes and ensure compliance with privacy and security standards. ?? Work closely with internal teams to support federal grant reporting, dashboard development, and reporting automation.
Min: USD $70.00/Hr. Max: USD $80.00/Hr. Qualifications: ?? Expert-level SQL knowledge with experience in data architecture and reporting schema development. ?? Strong AWS experience, including Athena, Snowflake, and data migration processes. ?? 5+ years of experience in data engineering and analysis, or a Bachelor??s degree in a related field with 2+ years of applied experience. ?? Proficiency in Python, C#, Java, and front-end UI development. ?? Experience working with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or similar. ?? Ability to develop, manage, and optimize data pipelines for large-scale data integration. ?? Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
?? Experience handling confidential or sensitive data, particularly related to minors, sexual abuse, or domestic violence survivors.
?? Understanding of values-oriented evaluation methods and participatory research.
?? Experience in training or capacity-building in data systems.
?? Master??s or PhD in a related field.
