The Grant Director is responsible for both corporate and foundation fundraising, principally through the writing of grant proposals. This person will thrive in an environment of innovation and growth.
This is what youll do!
? Youll identify and investigate corporate, foundation and government sources of funding.
? Youll research local funding cycles, giving trends, grant proposal requirements and submittal deadlines.
? Youll prepare the necessary documents required by the funding agency to secure financial support.
? Youll track the status of proposals and follow up to provide additional information as needed.
? Youll generate revenue through timely submission of grant proposals.
? Youll properly allocate grant funding, communicate conditions placed on money and ensure staff follow compliance directives.
? Youll prepare budgets to track revenue and compare grant receipts to actual expenditures.
? Youll work within a team environment with ample space for independence and the ability to innovate and create new service and funding enhancements. Youll prepare post-project reports required by the grant maker to track progress of fund receipts.
? Youll provide stewardship and conduct presentations at TAFB, foundation and corporate sites.
? Youll represent TAFB through at community and corporate events. Youll also attend regular staff meetings and participate in team planning sessions, submit appropriate reports and grant statistics to Chief Development Officer, provide support to other areas of Development team as needed
? Perform other duties as assigned
This is what youll need!
? Education and Experience
Bachelors degree and five years of grant writing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
? Technical Proficiencies
Youll be Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and database software
? Communication Skills
Excellence in speaking, writing, and presenting information
? Other Competencies
Knowledge and experience in grant research, proposal writing, local funding cycles and giving trends; ability to set priorities and complete projects on time; proficient in analyzing and interpreting diverse data and demographic research; integrity and an uncompromising work ethic; compassion for our mission
A day in the life:
? Youll work in an office environment that encourages a Yes, and! environment
? This position requires extended periods of sitting and occasional lifting to 40 pounds
? Occasional travel in service areas; must have reliable transportation and possess a valid drivers license and proof of insurance. Youll get reimbursed for any mileage driven in your personal vehicle during work!
? Requires work schedule flexibility with occasional weekend and evening availability
