Pay Range: $75.00-$90.00/hour
Overview:
A Programmer Analyst is responsible for designing and developing system solutions to meet business needs using senior-level tools and techniques. This role involves analyzing, coding, designing, testing, documenting, and supporting computer application software systems. The position will include providing interfaces between internal teams and external parties. The Programmer Analyst will also mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative environment.
Core Responsibilities: ? Analyze new assignments, design, and develop programming requirements and software specifications. Serve as a technical lead as assigned. ? Prepare business cases defining potential benefits, options for achieving benefits through new or modified processes, and associated business risks. ? Estimate efforts, including researching and estimating costs of software development, unit testing, and upgrades of vendor packages. ? Lead design efforts with business analysts, systems analysts, programmers, solution architects, and other team members. ? Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, and feasibility. ? Develop and utilize standard templates for conveying technical designs clearly and concisely. ? Program and test selected components of complex applications and integrate with packaged solutions as needed. ? Analyze and resolve issues found during testing and debug production problems. ? Assist in coordinating technical teams for project initiatives. ? Mentor and guide technical staff, conducting peer reviews when necessary. ? Gather, synthesize, and update documentation for technology processes or systems. ? Produce project deliverables and provide post-implementation support. ? On-call and/or after-hours work may be required.

Skill Qualifications:
Required:
? 7-10 years of Life and Annuity Insurance experience
? Proficiency in INGENIUM 6.0 or higher with Pathfinder
? Experience in multi-system environments (custom-developed applications and packaged solutions)
? Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with the capacity to guide other technical staff
? Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
? Strong oral and written communication skills
? Strong interpersonal skills
? Ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives
? Sound judgment in decision-making
? Effective team participation, helping drive projects to completion
Systems/Technical Knowledge:
? Advanced skills in various technical environments (e.g., Cobol, DB2, JCL, TSO, JavaScript)
? Proficient in data analysis and performing advanced SQL queries
? Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook); advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
? Understanding of REST & SOAP Web Services and experience with tools like SoapUI and REST API clients
Education and Experience Qualifications:
Required:
? 7-10 years of Life and Annuity Insurance experience
? Experience with INGENIUM 6.0 and above with Pathfinder
? BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
? 7+ years of experience in systems analysis or programming or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Preferred:
? ITIL Foundation certification
? Experience with ServiceNow
