JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this job is an executive level position within the enterprise finance division with oversight of the finance and financial planning and analysis activities of the enterprise, an entity comprised of four business units which total over $27 billion in revenue. This role is critical to driving our financial performance and supporting current and future business growth by providing insight to business, driving fact-based decision making.

This leader will participate in strategic planning activities and will coordinate the finance elements of those activities, interacting with the various business unit CFO?s to ensure that financial activities among them are coordinated, setting financial direction related to margin targets and budgets, defining and overseeing cost allocations and directing interactions with regulators, rating agencies and other external parties.

The leader should possess a strong background in building teams and sustainable, scalable financial operations including core financial planning and analysis, business analytics, pricing, corporate strategy, and an understanding of technology and product-focused industries within healthcare. This leader will be instrumental in guiding our financial decisions, ensuring the alignment of our capital deployment with our corporate strategy, and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
? Perform management responsibilities to include but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
? Team Leadership
? Performs management responsibilities to include but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.
? Predictive Analytics
? Oversee the development of enterprise-wide clear metrics, targets and guardrails to ensure accountability and drive desire behaviors to achieve strategic goals. Utilizes advanced business analytics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to drive profitable growth and operational efficiencies.
? Develop the strategic plan to transform finance team to strategic advisors focusing on efficiency, standardization and integration.
? Leverage financial data and business intelligence to uncover underlying drivers of performance. Develop insightful narratives that articulate business challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and translate findings into strategic recommendations for executive leadership.
? Partner with BU CFOS on the financial evaluation and pricing of commercial deals, ensuring profitability and alignment with strategic goals.
? Collaborate with enterprise partners to ensure pricing strategies are competitive and reflective of market conditions. Boost the portfolio for commercial valuation and operational constraints.
? Supports key decision makers with timely insights to drive decision making
? Core Financial Planning & Analysis
? Lead the Financial Planning and Analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic financial planning.
? Manage and improve the company?s financial planning processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, as well as variance analysis inclusive of operational actions.
? Develop and maintain robust financial models to support decision-making across the organization.
? Investment and Capital Strategy
? Collaborate with the Business Transformation Office (BTO) and Highmark Health?s Diversified businesses (DB&G/Alloyed Works) to formulate and execute the company?s financial and corporate strategy, including capital structure, M&A, and investment decisions.
Partner with DB&G in the analysis of potential acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic investments and partnerships.
? Oversee capital allocation and investment strategies to maximize returns and support strategic growth initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and ROI objectives.
? Technology and Product Focus
? Leverage a strong understanding of healthcare, technology and investments to support financial planning and strategy with a deep market perspective.
? Understand and evaluate the financial implications of product decisions, including R&D investment and go-to-market strategies.
? Develop technology plan to be AI-native rather than AI-enabled, leveraging technology to save time and drive decision-making (below mentions focus on understanding tech -think we want this person to drive).
? Driving tech utilization to decrease manual interventions and impact efficiency, accuracy, customer experience, and risk management
? Other duties as assigned or requested.

EXPERIENCE

Required
? Management or leadership role
? 15+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis and a strong background in business analytics and operations.
? Expert understanding of corporate finance, financial strategy, and capital investments.
? Strong analytical skills with the ability to simplify complex data and translate into actionable KPIs.
? Proven record of creating competitive and innovative strategies that show a clear path from vision to implementation. Shape strategy > Build strategy > Execute strategy > allocate human and capital resources > maximize long-term value creation.
? Able to courageously lead in internal and external VUCA conditions (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity). ?
