The Recurring Remote Production Support - Talent Statistician plays a crucial role in enhancing the broadcast of sports events by delivering vital statistics and game trends to announcers and graphics producers. This position requires a deep understanding of the game, including the storylines and statistics of each team involved in the event. The Talent Statistician will be responsible for confirming starting lineups, officials, and any other pregame information that the production crew may need. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the announcers have accurate and timely information to enhance their commentary during the game. In addition to pregame preparations, the Talent Statistician will assist in real-time during the game by answering questions related to recent plays. For instance, they will need to identify which player committed a foul or whether the last shot was a two or three-point field goal. This requires not only a keen understanding of the game but also the ability to identify trends and statistics that can help narrate the unfolding story of the game. Effective communication is essential, as the Talent Statistician must relay stats and trends to announcers without disrupting their flow, as well as communicate concisely with Graphics Producers over headsets. Collaboration is also a key aspect of this role. When available, the Talent Statistician will work with the teams' Sports Information Directors (SID) or Public Relations (PR) personnel to gather information and clarify any questions that may arise during the broadcast. This position demands a professional demeanor, as the individual will represent ESPN in various public settings, including courtside and in the broadcast booth.
Responsibilities
? Research and understand the storylines and statistics of each team.

? Confirm starting lineups, officials, and any other pregame information needs of the production crew.

? Help answer questions regarding plays that just happened, such as fouls or shot types.

? Identify trends and statistics that help tell the story of the game.

? Communicate stats and trends to announcers effectively without interrupting their flow.

? Answer any questions the announcers may have.

? Concise communication of stats and trends to Graphics Producers over headset.

? Answer any questions the Graphics Producer may have.

? Work with teams' SID/PR people to get information or questions answered when available.
Requirements
? Valid Driver's License is required.

? Good knowledge of sports history, rules, procedures, statistics, and terminology.

? Strong communication skills (in person and over headset).

? Professional demeanor representing ESPN in public, courtside, or in the broadcast booth.

? Experience working with statistics on a sports broadcast (as a Talent/Official Statistician or as a Graphics Producer).
