Server/ Waiter

Job Overview

Server/ Waiter responsibilities include greeting and serving members/guest, providing detailed information on menus, and multi-tasking various front-of-the-house duties.

Job Functions
? Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred.
? Take food and drink orders from members/guest accurately and with a positive attitude.
? Engage with members/guest in a friendly manner.
? Knowledge of the menu, with the ability to make suggestions.
? Ensure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
? Help members/guest select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
? Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
? Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
? Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
? Basic understanding of beer, wine, spirits, and sake preferred.
? Where applicable, holds a state and/or local food handlers card.
? Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.

? Ability to lift 40 lbs.
? Ability to work long hours, evenings, holidays, and weekends.
? Ability to remain on feet the majority of the workday.

Education and Experience
? Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred.
? * Have 2+years of serving or related experience in a full-service restaurant
? Have a current food handler?s card and alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local law
? Meet minimum age for preparing and serving alcoholic beverages
? Have basic knowledge of food and beverage service/hospitality
? Have Excellent customer service skills
? High school diploma or GED
