Provide strategic legal counsel to senior executives on corporate governance matters.
Ensure BP's compliance with all relevant corporate governance laws and regulations.
Conduct thorough and accurate legal research on corporate governance issues.
Advise on the development and implementation of corporate governance policies and procedures.
Review and update existing corporate governance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to changing laws and regulations.
Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on corporate governance matters.
Collaborate with internal teams, including risk management, compliance, and finance, to identify and mitigate potential corporate governance risks.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in corporate governance.
Represent BP in legal proceedings related to corporate governance matters.
Build strong working relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory agencies.
Monitor and report on BP's compliance with corporate governance requirements to senior management.
Provide guidance and support to junior legal team members on corporate governance matters.
Conduct internal audits and investigations related to corporate governance.
Participate in corporate governance audits and assessments by external auditors.
Prepare and present reports on corporate governance matters to the board of directors and other stakeholders.
