The CDL-A Driver is responsible for the transportation and delivery of products to customers, using a commercial motor vehicle, in a way that meets company's and customer's requirements.
Key Responsibilities: ? Transport and deliver products in accordance with the established schedule ? Properly secure loads ? Operate the truck/trailer units in a safe manner, reporting any vehicle problems and defects to management ? Deliver orders on time and act in a courteous and professional manner to develop and maintain good customer relations ? Comply with all Department of Transportation standards and regulations including maintaining a good driving record ? Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Key Requirements: ? Must be 21 years of age with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience ? Valid driver's license for types of vehicles to be driven ? Over 18,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) requires Commercial Driver's License (CDL) ? Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules ? Knowledge of geographic area ? Skill in safely operating various types of trucks ? License not suspended or revoked within previous 5 years per the criteria of 49 CFR 391.15 and/or 383.51 whether in commercial or personal vehicle. ? No more than: two moving violations; OR two preventable accidents; OR a combination of one moving violation and one preventable accident; within the previous two years ? No conviction of, or suspension for, DUI or similar offense in past 5 years, whether in commercial or personal vehicle ? Must pass all Department of Transportation and company tests ? Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools ? Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift ? Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with team members and/or customers ? Ability to accept supervisory coaching related to performance, work habits and attitude. ? Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
