SUMMARY
Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) utilizes a variety of funding sources to support the programs that create opportunities for inclusion, community connection, and sporting excellence. Grants are an integral part of the fundraising strategic plan. This position is for a grant writer to join the grants team and will assist with researching, writing, and reporting on grants for various sports and projects for SOTX.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Research and develop Special Olympics Texas? grant plan;
? Write grant proposals and LOIs to foundation and government entities, according to format required;
? Establish and maintain a process for reviewing and submitting grants to funders in a timely manner;
? Help develop relationships with granting agencies and foundations to assist with the application process;
? Assist department, area, and regional personnel with grant reporting;
? Work with Programs and Finance to ensure completion of grant requirements;
? Assist staff in program creation and sustainability within grant protocols;
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS
Passion for Special Olympics Texas
Screening: Must pass Criminal and National Sex Offender Registry background screening
Education: Bachelor?s Degree (English, Communications, or Non-Profit Management a plus);
Experience: One to two years professional writing;
Knowledge: G Suite; Database experience:
Skills: Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects; effective time management; outstanding verbal and writing ability; ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
Work Schedule: Full-time 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time; may be required to lift and/or move up to 20lbs, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
