LocationHouston, TXReporting RelationshipsReports to Engineering ManagerParented by Pipeline Project ManagerPurposeThe Mechanical & Piping Engineer will lead efforts of mechanical and piping systems for a Pipeline Project infrastructure for both mainline and compression, with a key focus on technical aspects of design, construction, and maintenance. HSEQEnsure compliance with Company & Project and industry HSSE policies, standards, and regulations throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.Ensure all design, construction, and maintenance activities comply with industry codes, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.Develop and implement integrity management plans for pipeline infrastructure including corrosion prevention, maintenance schedules, and inspection programs.Serve as the mechanical technical authority, providing mentorship, training, and guidance to team members.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize pipeline performance and operations.Represent the organization in interactions with regulatory authorities, securing necessary permits and approvals.Work Processes & SystemsOversee the design, construction, and maintenance of mechanical and piping systems, ensuring adherence to industry codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Develop and implement integrity management plans, including corrosion prevention, maintenance schedules, and inspection programs.Validate and approve mechanical designs, test packs, and static equipment inspections, including sign-off on readiness and technical compliance.Contribute to weekly engineering reports and provide input on surveyor deliverables, site fit-ups, and interface issues.Leadership TechnicalKnowledge of energy industry measurement standards and operations best practices such as AGA, API, GPA, etc.Perform stress analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), and fluid flow simulations to validate designs and predict pipeline behavior.Review and interpret engineering drawings (e.g., P&IDs, PFDs, isometrics, and structural drawings) and provide technical solutions for challenges.Ensure pneumatic test pack validations and exclusion zone calculations meet safety and design standards.Support systems completion and commissioning activities for the Pipeline, both mainline and compression.Troubleshoot mechanical issues and anomalies, developing solutions to ensure continuous operations. Key AccountabilitiesOversee design, construction, and maintenance of mechanical and piping systems, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.Perform stress analysis, simulations, and inspections to validate designs and operations.Troubleshoot issues and develop solutions to ensure reliable operations.Approve designs, test packs, and inspection plans for static equipment. Skills & ExperienceAdvanced knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and diagnostics specifically Electric-Driven Compression (Baker Hughes ICL technology, VFDs, and associated controls). Proficiency with electrical testing tools and reliability-focused methodologies.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex technical challenges effectively. Qualifications Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field is required. Minimum of 15 years of experience in an engineering capacity requiredProfessional Engineering License is a plus.Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to high accuracy and safety standards.Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams.
