Under the general guidance of the Security Manager, the Security Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, employees, visitors, and physicians at Brownwood Regional Medical Center (BRMC). This position is responsible for protecting hospital buildings, assets, and premises as assigned, while adhering to applicable state laws and following the hospital's security policies and procedures. The Security Officer must maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity, as they are often the first point of contact for individuals entering the facility. The role requires a proactive approach to security, including monitoring the premises, responding to incidents, and conducting investigations as necessary. The Security Officer will be expected to operate security electronic equipment, including CCTV and access control systems, to monitor activities within the hospital. In addition, the officer must be prepared to handle emergency or crisis situations, requiring sound judgment and the ability to act decisively. This position also involves dealing with confidential information and requires a high degree of diplomacy and tact when interacting with community members and hospital personnel. The Security Officer must be able to conduct basic investigations and interviews, ensuring that all incidents are documented accurately and reported to the appropriate authorities. To be successful in this role, the Security Officer must possess a clear and active Texas Driver's License, maintain a clear police record, and obtain a Level III Commissioned Security Officer state license from the Private Security Bureau (PSB) within the first eight weeks of employment. Additionally, the officer must pass prescribed courses in weapon proficiency within six months of employment. This position is vital to maintaining a safe environment for all individuals within the hospital and requires a commitment to upholding the highest standards of security and safety.

Requirements
? High School diploma or equivalent education.

? Obtain and maintain a Level III Commissioned Security Officer state license from the Private Security Bureau (PSB) within 8 weeks of employment.

? Ability to pass written and physical PSB course of instruction within 6 months of employment.
