The Maintenance Technician B position is a critical role within our organization, responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on both diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. This includes working on chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brake systems, general engine work, HVAC components, suspension, drive train, and steering systems. The technician will also handle basic tire work such as replacement, tire rotation, and tread depth checks. This position operates under the direct supervision of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities
? Perform repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.

? Maintain a working knowledge of vehicle components and systems, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, and air brake systems.

? Conduct engine repair and maintenance, including suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.

? Perform basic tire work such as replacement, tire rotation, and tread depth checks.
,
? Provide road service when necessary to ensure equipment is returned to operation safely and efficiently.

? Identify sources of malfunctions using electronic tools and complete applicable company training programs.
,
? Perform line maintenance welding and fabrication as needed.

? Complete other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
? Minimum of 1 year of experience in a technician position demonstrating knowledge of gasoline and diesel powered equipment diagnosis and repair.

? Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.

? Prior experience with maintenance work on Classes 1-5 light/medium duty and heavy-duty Class 7-8 trucks, aircraft, or ships is preferred.

? Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.

? Valid Driver's License is required; Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
