Bakery Manager

The Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) Bakery Manager directs the team and oversees the day-to-day operations of the bakery. This includes all aspects of the guest experience, cake production, brand and merchandise presentation, work environment, P&L management, and inventory control. The ultimate goal of this role is to drive sales and profitability while ensuring the highest quality cakes, a welcoming atmosphere, and superior service are consistently provided to our guests. The Bakery Manager serves as the key culture carrier, bringing joy to the bakery and community while building the team's commitment to NbC and its brand.
Accountabilities/Duties:
Team Leadership
? Prioritizes the guest experience, models superior guest engagement, and fosters a positive work environment.
? Recruits and selects talent while ensuring performance expectations are clearly communicated. Provides training to team members to help them thrive.
? Regularly engages with team members to gain insight into workload, address challenges, and adjust as needed.
? Provides continuous coaching, delivers constructive feedback, conducts quarterly reviews, and addresses performance issues in a timely manner.
? Assigns responsibilities to Assistant Managers to support ongoing leadership of the bakery team and operations.
? Identifies future leaders and cross-trains team members to ensure adequate bakery coverage.
? Maintains hands-on knowledge of all bakery roles and steps in regularly to perform responsibilities as needed.
Business Operations
? Facilitates opening and closing the bakery, including cash-drawer balancing and bank deposits.
? Manages special-order fulfillment via web and email for individual guests and corporate accounts, as well as large orders and deliveries.
? Creates and communicates weekly sales goals, cake production plans, and team schedules. Adjusts bakery coverage based on changing business trends.
? Sets inventory par levels based on sales forecasts and production demands, monitors stock levels, and processes weekly supply orders. Conducts monthly inventory.
? Ensures NbC product, service, bakery environment, and visual merchandising standards are consistently upheld. Adheres to food and health safety standards and NbC policies.
? Manages controllable expenses, including labor, COGS, maintenance, and supplies, to maximize profitability.
? Performs administrative functions, including payroll processing, sales, labor and product inventory reporting, and basic accounting procedures.
Local Marketing
? Leads proactive community outreach to increase brand visibility and engage in brand-aligned events.
? Coordinates special event participation with local businesses, schools, and community organizers.

Education, Certifications, and Work Experience Requirements: ? High school diploma or GED; post-secondary education is a plus. ? 1-3 years of leadership experience in managing teams, business operations, and guest experiences within the retail, hospitality, or food service industries. ? Proven success in hiring, developing teams, creating a superior service environment, and achieving financial goals. ? Experience in setting productivity goals, managing inventory, team scheduling, and controlling costs. ? Foodservice safety training certificate (or required to obtain within 30 days of employment). ? Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to learn new technologies.
Work Availability:
? Must be flexible to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business demands.
