The CDL A Drayage Driver position at MSI is a critical role responsible for transporting cargo containers from ports and delivering MSI products to various customers. This position operates on a third shift schedule, specifically from Monday to Friday, 7 PM to 5 AM, focusing on draying overnight from Savannah to Atlanta. The driver will be tasked with ensuring that cargo is delivered safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. In this role, the driver must be comfortable with port procedures and maintain a legal and accurate logbook. The ability to read and interpret Bill of Lading, Picking Sheets, and Delivery Orders is essential. The driver will also be responsible for hooking and unhooking containers to the power unit, assisting in loading, unloading, and securing cargo. Physical demands include generating significant vertical push/pull force, lifting and transferring heavy items, and working at various heights while assembling and disassembling securing equipment. Safety is paramount in this position, and the driver must be safety-minded in all aspects of their work. Additionally, the role may require making local customer deliveries with multiple stops, utilizing flatbed and dry van trailers. The driver will also perform additional duties as required or requested by management, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
? Pull cargo containers from ports and deliver to MSI designated locations.

? Return empty containers after deliveries.

? Maintain a legal and accurate log book.

? Read and interpret Bill of Lading, Picking Sheets, and Delivery Orders.

? Hook and unhook containers to the power unit.

? Assist in loading, unloading, and securing cargo.

? Generate 137lbs of vertical push/pull force.

? Lift and transfer 65lbs as needed.

? Carry at least 30lbs the length of the truck bed.

? Ascend and descend multiple-rung ladders as required.

? Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch frequently during work.

? Work at elevated heights of 72? above the ground for assembly tasks.

? Work at lowered heights of 6? above the ground for assembly tasks.

? Make local customer deliveries with multiple stops, if required.
,
? Perform additional duties as required or requested.
Requirements
? One year of verifiable driving experience, specifically with heavy, overweight containers.

? Ability to pass a skilled driving test and all DOT pre-employment requirements.

? Possess a valid Class A CDL.

? Hold a valid TWIC Card.

? High School Education preferred.
