Children's Services Library Assistant

Job Summary:

The Library Clerk in the Children's Services department provides support to the library team by assisting customers, maintaining library materials, and implementing children's programs. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for working with children and families.

Main Responsibilities: ? Assist customers with library materials and services, including checking items in and out and answering research questions ? Organize and implement children's library programs, including literacy, reading and play groups, story-telling sessions, crafts, and special activities ? Maintain the condition of the library shelves and assist with opening and closing of the library ? Conduct community outreach programs to promote children's literacy and recreational programs and events

Qualifications: ? High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND one year of customer service and computer work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience ? Must possess State of Arizona Driver's license ? Knowledge of basic computer applications, record keeping practices, and customer service standards
