Job Title:Data Center Network Engineer - Cisco Job Location: Jericho, NY 11753Onsite Requirements: Cisco Network engineer CCNA or CCNP Job Description: Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Supply instructions and best practices to the existing Data Center teams for confirming power setup, physical cabling, and hardware installations, including configuration and troubleshooting support of network devices. Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching infrastructure. Monitors and manages incoming work, provisioning of network workflows, and incident requests. Other support tasks, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned depending on workload and the employee's skill level. Examples include hardware installations, troubleshooting, and DNS / DHCP administration. Occasional after hours and weekend work may be required in order to perform tasks that cannot be done during business hours. The engineer will be expected to participate in the Network Engineering on-call rotation and will carry a pager and/or cell phone 24x7. Complies with all customer Network Engineering services, policies, and procedures. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Valid Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification. Valid Wireless certification is desirable (CCNA and/or CWNA). Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. 5+ years' experience with networking and internetworking devices and software. Experience with large mission-critical internetworks required. Skills/Abilities/Competencies: Cisco Routing and switching knowledge with Nexus, Catalyst, and Integrated Service Routers. Experience with administrating DNS / DHCP systems. Knowledge of cloud technologies - VPC, SaaS, PaaS. Ability to work in integrated and multicloud environment - Azure, AWS, GCP. Routing protocols - MPLS, BGP, and OSPF. Network protocols - Spanning Tree, VLANs, 802.1Q, and VPC. Cisco Wireless technology - Wireless Controllers and Wireless Access Points. Customer Service. Project Management. Good communication skills. Ability to learn and be self-directed. Diligent about creating and maintaining detailed computer incident logs.
