The Personnel Services Specialist position at the Florida Department of Corrections is responsible for managing various aspects of recruitment and selection processes. Responsibilities
? Independently perform professional duties related to recruitment and selection for the Florida Department of Corrections.

? Evaluate, interpret, and employ personnel rules and collective bargaining agreements related to recruitment.

? Promote a better understanding of the Florida Department of Corrections as an employer with promotional opportunities.

? Maintain a case load of selection packages by coordinating work assignments and managing time effectively.

? Ensure vacancies are advertised timely and accurately using the People First system.
,
? Determine salary and appointment status for requests to hire.
,
? Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding the Hiring Center in the People First System.

? Review and analyze documents submitted with recruitment packages to ensure compliance with Federal and State hiring guidelines.

? Prepare correspondence to Central Office and field office personnel regarding additional documentation needed for recruitment packages.

? Conduct background investigations on potential employees and review results with hiring managers.
,
? Review applications to determine eligibility based on candidates' knowledge, skills, and abilities.

? Ensure procedures for Veterans' Preference are followed and all candidates are given appropriate consideration.

? Initiate actions to input selected candidates into the People First system upon approval and confirmation of effective dates.

? Utilize various computer programs including People First, Internet, SharePoint, FCIC/NCIC, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other applications.
Requirements
? Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent.

? One year of experience in Human Resources.
,
? Must be willing to work in office Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Nice-to-haves
? Skilled in drafting, comprehending, and following correspondence.

? Experience in utilizing Adobe Acrobat Pro.

? Experience in the State of Florida's People First system.
