Keio Academy of New York ( https://www.keio.edu ) is an international boarding school in Purchase, NY. It is the only overseas operation affiliated with Keio University ( https://www.keio.ac.jp/en ) in Japan. Keio Academy of New York seeks a highly motivated high school science teacher to join our team.

REQUIREMENT:
? A degree in science is required. A master's degree in a relevant scientific field or education is preferable and a plus.
? High school teaching certification and at least three years of classroom teaching experience are strongly preferred.
? Experience in teaching ESL students is preferred.
? Classes will be in lab-based Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics.
? Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members.
? Knowledge of the Japanese language is not required.

? Starting Salary from *$52.000.00 ~ (*Depends On Experience)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following job description provides a general summary of the responsibilities and assignments of all faculty members. It is not intended to be wholly definitive, and faculty are expected to perform additional duties as needed. As a full-time faculty member at the boarding school, your responsibilities and assignments include, but are not limited to:
? Teaching
Teach 16-20 regular classes per week according to the curriculum and the School's needs. Teachers may be assigned to teach extra classes over 20 as needed.
Teach one Academic Extension class per week for one semester.
Plan, organize, and implement appropriate instructional programs and other tasks that guide and encourage students to fulfill their academic potential related to English language learning and support for other subject-area content and vocabulary, as needed. Chaperone and participate in extracurricular educational events/activities as assigned by the School (e.g., Parents' Day, Open House, Theater Day, Sho Fu Sai (school festival), and other educational day trips throughout the year).
? Non-academic & Boarding Duties
Chaperone students outside campus for extracurricular and/or boarding activities a few times per school year.
Work on campus on Saturdays/Sundays/holidays up to four times per school year for academic, boarding, or pastoral functions. This number includes Saturday Morning Program participation.
? School Duties
Participate in committees as assigned by the School.
Perform school roles as assigned by the School, for example, serving as a curator, advisor, officer, or coach to students in extracurricular programs or clubs.
? Other duties as assigned by the School
The Headmaster will finalize assignments of school duties in July before the new school year starts. Faculty are informed of the campus Saturday/Sunday/Holiday Duty schedule before the new academic year starts.
Including regular teaching hours, faculty's duties are calculated as school duty/contribution points, resulting in a monetary allowance awarded in August of that academic year.
Full-time faculty members are required to perform all other general responsibilities such as attending assemblies, participating in school official gatherings/events, attending department and faculty meetings, proctoring exams, maintaining communication with students, parents, and colleagues, addressing disciplinary matters as needed, and providing emergency support as needed.
Faculty are expected to undertake any other related tasks as the School may reasonably request.
