About the position

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Medical Couriers in Brooksville, FL. This full-time position plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of blood and blood components to various hospitals and clients. As a Medical Courier, you will be responsible for managing the shipment and delivery processes, which are vital to maintaining the blood supply for our community. You will be expected to meet strict deadlines while providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will review shipping notices, orders, and other records to determine the priorities and shipping methods necessary to meet scheduled deadlines. You will receive and carry out blood orders from hospitals and other customers, ensuring that all blood products are inspected and evaluated for safety, purity, and potency. Your responsibilities will also include packaging and delivering blood products to service area clients or other transportation agencies, running errands, and transporting small items for repair when necessary. Additionally, you will assist the Hospital Services Team Leader in resolving any issues that arise, adhering to LifeSouth's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Medical Courier position requires a commitment to providing the highest level of customer service, as you will be the face of LifeSouth in the community. You will need to work a varied schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and on-call hours, to ensure that our blood supply needs are met at all times. Responsibilities
? Review shipping notices, orders and other records to determine priorities and shipping methods required to meet scheduled deadlines

? Receive and carry out blood orders from hospitals and other customers
,
? Inspect and evaluate blood products to ensure they are safe, pure and potent
,
? Package and deliver blood products to service area clients or to other transportation agencies
,
? Run errands, deliver documents, pick up supplies and transport small items for repair when necessary
,
? Assist Hospital Services Team Leader with resolving problems in a timely manner according to LifeSouth Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
,
? Provide the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers

Requirements
? High school diploma or GED
,
? Valid driver's license and must meet LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements
,
? Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and on-call hours
,
? Strong organizational and time management skills
,
? Excellent teamwork skills
,
? Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and instructions
,
? Effective oral and written communication skills
,
? Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, proportions, and percentages
,
? Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 70 pounds, grasping and repetitive motion, and occasional stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and overhead lifting
