DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is an independent professional accounting position. The responsibilities and duties of this position involves the application of accounting techniques to a variety of fiscal transactions. This position is an integral part of an organizational unit with a broad scope of responsibilities. As such, the job duties require skills and abilities to maintain a wide variety of complex accounting and financial records.
? ?Review, audit, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and payment.
? ?Enter expenditure data and related encumbrance transactions into the Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) System and MyFlorida Marketplace (MFMP).
? ?Verify voucher summary reports and prepare vouchers for submission.
? ?Record financial data in the Automated Contract Management System (ACMS).
? ?Maintain organized payment files with proper supporting documentation.
? ?Conduct travel audits and manage FLAIR transactions within STMS to ensure compliance and accuracy.
? ?Provide support for projects assigned to the accounting division, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
? ?Assist with PALM project tasks and testing requirements
? ?Act as a backup for Accountant II and III for voucher assembly and maintenance
? ?Complete additional tasks and assignments as directed, ensuring timely and accurate execution in accordance with departmental standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
? Knowledge of FLAIR transactions, Department of Financial Services? voucher auditing rules, state expenditure guidelines and Florida Statute 215.422.
? Ability to record and verify information with a high degree of accuracy, meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks.
? Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications
? Ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communications.
? Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
? Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to make informed decisions.
? Knowledge of and ability to apply basic accounting and auditing principles and procedures.

Preference will be given to the Department of Elder Affairs employees.
