As an Lead Overnight Service Coordinator at St. Vincent de Paul?s heat relief shelter, you will lead a team during the night to ensure the safe, welcoming, and efficient operation of our emergency shelter for men and women experiencing homelessness. You?ll supervise Service Coordinators, collaborate closely with security, and coordinate with Key Campus staff to handle any issues that arise overnight. This role requires a proactive and calm leader, capable of managing crises and maintaining a structured environment when most residents are resting.
Key Responsibilities: ? Lead shelter staff in maintaining a calm and safe overnight environment, directly supervising approximately 3 Service Coordinators and volunteers. ? Monitor adherence to shelter procedures and provide guidance and support to the overnight team. ? Collaborate with security and shelter staff to respond to emergencies, including behavioral and medical incidents, ensuring safety and quick resolution. ? Coordinate with security to document and address incidents, including any disturbances or emergencies that occur overnight. ? Oversee and ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of resident property, maintaining organized and accurate records, according to guidelines. ? Manage overnight communication to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations. ? Oversee the preparation and maintenance of sleeping areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and orderly for incoming residents. ? Oversee shelter take down and emergency clean up as needed. ? Ensure cleanliness and organization of all workspaces, dormitories, and communal areas. ? Support overnight volunteers, facilitating a welcoming and inclusive environment for their contributions. ? Participate in regular staff meetings, training sessions, and agency events to stay aligned with shelter goals and protocols. ? Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.

You are a quick-thinking and dependable leader with experience in shelter environments. You possess strong organizational and communication skills, with a passion for supporting vulnerable populations. You are resourceful and capable of maintaining a safe and efficient overnight environment, in unexpected or challenging situations.
Requirements: ? Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. ? Experience working with vulnerable populations in a shelter or similar environment, particularly in an overnight setting, is preferred. ? Current Level One Fingerprint Clearance or eligibility to obtain it within 90 days of employment. ? Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other physical tasks as needed during overnight shifts.
