The AIDA Research Domain Lead will serve as a strategic thought partner and key point of contact to the Research organization within R&D to help them harness the power of data & analytics and the skills, tools, and expertise available within AIDA. Utilizing their deep knowledge of Research/Drug Discovery and expertise in advanced analytics & AI, the Domain Lead will partner with the Research organization, WRDM1 Digital Client Partner, and GRaDEM2 Creation Center to shape, prioritize and oversee the delivery of a portfolio of mission-critical data and analytics projects and foundations. Within AIDA, the Domain Lead will proactively serve to translate Research and Discovery needs into a cohesive data and analytics strategy and drive partnership and alignment across AIDA domains. This role will also serve as AIDA's representative to the broader Pfizer Digital organization for any Research-related activities that Pfizer Digital is addressing. The Research Domain Lead and other Domain Leads will report to the Head of AIDA and serve as global leaders in the organization, including supporting continuous advancement and innovation in data engineering processing, flow, platforms, utilization, and advanced analytics capabilities. The ideal candidate must have a strong strategic perspective and desire to push the boundaries through the application of state-of-the-art AI/ML methodologies.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the single AIDA point of contact for all Research/Discovery-related AIDA projects
Utilize expertise in Research and Drug Discovery and knowledge of data, analytics, and AI to design the most valuable solutions, advise stakeholders, and ensure implementation of the most practical approaches that achieve the desired outcomes
Connect the dots across Research/Discovery needs and develop a cohesive strategy that serves those needs efficiently
Translate Research's data and analytics needs and priorities into tactical projects for AIDA to lead and advance
Document needs, constraints, and requests, and own and track progress toward project completion, business impacts, and key metrics
Marshall the right resources and expertise within AIDA to deliver data and analytics capabilities that best accelerate the research and discovery of breakthrough medicines
Establish effective partnerships with and influence leaders in other areas of Digital to collectively deliver on discrete projects and larger programs
Illustrate the "art of the possible" and proactively propose ideas, innovative approaches, use cases, or external collaborations that Research might find valuable
Foster collaboration across AIDA, Digital, and other colleagues to identify and communicate strategic lessons learned and best practices, promoting continuous improvement in Research project execution
Partner with other Domain Leads to develop best practices, learn from each other, and evolve the role, with the goal of delivering transformational impact to the organization
Maintain an active external network in the life sciences AI/ML community to understand state of the art capabilities and potential impacts to Pfizer R&D
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
13+ years of experience working in the Research function within a biopharmaceutical company or serving the Research function as a management consultant or service provider
Advanced degree in a scientific, biomedical, or engineering discipline
Working knowledge of bioinformatics, computational biology, and AI/ML
Deep understanding of biopharmaceutical R&D data including "omics" data, screening data, pre-clinical assay data, chemical data, and protein structure data, and ability to formulate data strategy
Nuanced insight into the opportunities and challenges presented with applying AI/ML to business problems within the life sciences industry
Ability to translate ambiguous customer needs into tangible and achievable strategy and plans
Proactive, agile, and innovative leader, who can creatively solve problems and operate effectively in a rapidly evolving, varied environment (e.g., technical and business, executive and non-executive audiences)
Track record of successful internal and/or external program management and strategic planning, working with highly matrixed teams within health, medical, life science or related organizations
Strategic mindset, including the ability to prioritize tasks and projects, identify the most relevant parameters driving a business decision, and to focus the work accordingly
Very strong organizational skills, ability to successfully deliver with cross-functional, matrixed teams on multiple projects at the same time, and ability to influence without direct authority
Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and teaming ability
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PhD in a scientific, biomedical, or engineering discipline or an MBA
Hands-on experience shepherding a drug discovery project from target ID through candidate nomination
Demonstrated successful execution and management of multiple, simultaneous projects
Experience applying advanced analytics and AI/ML to biopharmaceutical R&D
Experience in a high-growth environment, standing up new teams and technologies
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Extensive computer use, ability to work at a rapid pace, in a virtual environment.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Some travel will be required as part of this role. Expectations around travel will vary but you will need to be capable of travel within the region and to other regions.
This role may on occasion require physical or virtual participation on a weekend, holiday, or after normal business hours.

For roles based in New York City: The annual base salary for this position ranges from $178,700.00 to $297,700.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
