Job Description

Essential Functions:

Operates within the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following responsibilities: ? Gathers detailed information that pertains to the health condition or situation of healthcare clients. ? Analyzes the assessment findings to determine the diagnosis or challenges. ? Envisions the envisioned outcomes for a personalized intervention aimed at the healthcare client. ? Devises a course of action prescribing strategies and options to meet expected outcomes. ? Applies the outlined proposal. Validates patient progression following the proposal. ? Care Coordination encompasses facilitating the administration of healthcare services. ? Health education and health promotion involve utilizing tactics to promote health and ensure a safe environment. ? When providing consultation, advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists work to sway the designated plan, enhance the skills of others, and bring about effective change. ? Evaluates the advancement towards the achievement of predefined results.

Observes the ANA Standards of Professional Performance that were introduced in 2010:
? Nursing practice sees an increase in quality and effectiveness through systematic methods
? Attains the knowledge and proficiency that showcases modern nursing competencies
? Reflecting on personal nursing practice in relation to professional standards, guidelines, and regulations
? Involves oneself in and assists in the enhancement of the professional skills of others in the workplace
? Involves patients, family members, and other relevant parties in the performance of nursing activities
? The application of ethical considerations is pervasive in every practice domain
? Translates research findings into actionable practices
? In the planning and delivery of nursing services, it is essential to evaluate aspects such as safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice

? Registered Professional Nurses must operate within the legal framework outlined by the state in which they are employed and ensure that their care practices adhere to the standards, policies, and regulations established by accrediting bodies.
? Complies with the rules stated in the Code of Ethics for Nurses (ANA 2010).

Masterfully uses applicable technology and software to:
? Help with the documentation and tracking of nursing activities and patient treatment plans.
? Utilize essential work-related software to fully engage as an active associate within the company, including managing corporate emails, participating in iLearn modules, contributing to employee engagement surveys, accessing information on benefits and compensation packages, and reviewing organizational policies and guidelines.
? Actively pursues opportunities to improve the delivery of patient care through innovative and resourceful approaches to problem-solving.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing

Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing or Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities

Regarding BLS certification:

The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.

Preferred:

Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience

Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing

Physical Requirements:

Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
