Job Description
Essential Functions:
Operates with the ANA Nursing Process (2010) to perform the following functions:
? Retrieves comprehensive data that is pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health status or situation.
? Examines the evaluation results to establish the diagnosis or issues.
? Predicts the anticipated results of a customized plan aimed at the specific healthcare user.
? Creates a detailed strategy that outlines different approaches and options to achieve desired results.
? Executes the approved course of action. Secures that the patient is moving forward as per the plan.
? Coordination of Care entails orchestrating the provision of healthcare services.
? Health Education and Promotion of Wellness - implements techniques to support well-being and uphold a secure environment.
? In the realm of consultation, advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists work to influence the identified plan, enhance the capabilities of others, and drive transformation.
? Assesses the improvement towards attainment of goals.
Supports the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2010):
? - The systematic enhancement of nursing practice aims to improve its quality and efficacy
? Demonstrates proficiency and expertise in line with current best practices in nursing
? Assessing one's own nursing performance in accordance with professional practice standards, guidelines, and necessary regulations

? In accordance with state regulations and professional guidelines, Registered Professional Nurses are required to deliver competent care that aligns with accepted standards and ethical guidelines to meet the needs of their patients effectively.
? Complies with the regulations set forth in the ANA 2010 Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Shows proficiency in using appropriate technology and software solutions:
? Aid in documenting the procedures carried out by nurses and the care administered to patients.
? Access other work-related applications necessary to be an engaged and active associate of the organization, such as company email, iLearn modules, employee engagement surveys, benefits and compensation information, and policies and procedures.
? Displays a proactive attitude towards improving patient care quality through innovative problem-solving techniques.
? Duties beyond the usual scope may be designated.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education - Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
Regarding BLS certification:
The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.
Preferred:
Experience - 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
Education - Bachelors degree in Nursing
Physical Requirements:
Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
