This opportunity entails being responsible for performing and managing the work of device evaluation technicians located at the client?s Transportation Engineering Research Laboratory (TERL). The Transportation Research Team Leader oversees an experienced and interdisciplinary team of technicians as they evaluate traffic control devices for accuracy and effectiveness. What You?ll Do: Responsible for daily assignments and oversight of TERL device evaluation. Reviews analysis and evaluations to ensure the best solution. Handles escalated inquiries through to resolution. Utilizes tools and software applications to evaluate traffic control devices and report their findings and ensures the quality and timely completion of the Team's reports. Develops and provides metric updates for the evaluation dashboard. Oversees employees and assists with their development and provides feedback to the Project Manager on performance. Creates, updates, and ensures the use policies, procedures, templates, specifications and other project-specific documentation. Responsible for coordinating schedules and approving timecards. Communicates goals and feedback to from clients while coaching and mentoring team via positive critiques. Performs other duties as assigned. What You?ll Need: Bachelor?s degree in relevant field and 6 years of relevant experience In lieu of degree, 10 years of relevant experience What We Prefer: Experience with Traffic Signals, Transportation, ITS, or Tolling. The role requires a self-starter. The ideal candidate must have the initiative to work well with minimal supervision. Excellent communication and Teamwork skills.
