Global Merchant & Network Services (GMNS) brings together American Express' merchant-and network-related businesses. GMNS manages the relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express. It serves as an acquirer, processor and marketing partner for merchants of all sizes, including small, regional and global businesses.

This position serves as a critical member of the LFO team providing support for financial business analysis, consultative decision support and P&L Management for the Global Client Group (GCG) in GMNS. This position will be responsible for P&L management, investments, and volume analytics for the GCG organization. The role interfaces with GMNS LFO teams, FP&A, and multiple business teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain deep knowledge of the Merchant & Network Services business, as well as exposure to and insight from senior leadership.

    Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting monthly GCG volume tracking at segment and merchant level, understanding variance drivers, and changes in growth trends. Creating volume forecasts aligned with enterprise planning trends, ensuring alignment
  • Providing value-add consultative and analytical support to senior leadership as part of P&L management support, including evaluating financial performance and identifying Opex improvement opportunities
  • Lead monthly financial reviews with business partners including results trends and risks & opportunities.
  • Closely partner with FP&A team on financial planning processes (monthly R&Os, Plan, LRP)
  • Develop and regularly present analytics, PMO updates and results to senior leaders and interface with business partners
    Qualifications
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong aptitude for analytics. Demonstrated ability to develop financial models and draw value-add insights from large amounts of financial data. Solid ability to adopt a broad perspective and link business strategies to specific initiatives. Knowledge of coding/SQL/Lumi preferred, willingness to learn required.
  • Results Driven: Ability to work under pressure, navigate through ambiguity and balance multiple priorities.
  • Communication: Superior ability to communicate with and influence at all levels of the organization. Capable of translating complex information into digestible takeaways.
  • Relationship building: Ability to build strong working relationships to maximize collaboration, problem solving and generate solutions to deliver results.
  • Strong work ethic: Demonstrated will-to-win and personal excellence.

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
