About the position

The Payroll Accountant I position at NORDAM involves applying fundamental accounting principles and practices to manage payroll functions in compliance with federal and state regulations. The role requires problem-solving skills to develop solutions for payroll processing and involves auditing payroll data, preparing input forms, and assisting in the implementation of payroll systems. The position is entry-level and provides opportunities for growth within the accounting department.

Responsibilities
• Develop solutions to a variety of problems related to payroll processing and recording.

• Audit and compile payroll data including hours worked and deductions for computing net pay.
,
• Prepare computer input forms and format files for uploading payroll data into the Payroll System.
,
• Assist in conducting studies and formulating recommendations for payroll operation improvements.
,
• Compile earnings and deduction data for electronic general ledger journal entries.
,
• Analyze Payroll Liability general ledger accounts for stakeholder benefits costs.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
,
• 0-3 years of related experience and/or training.

• Experience with ADP Payroll and SAP is preferred.

• Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
,
• Knowledge of accounting processes such as payroll applications and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
