The Asset Protection Manager at Big Lots Distribution Center is responsible for overseeing the security function within the distribution center, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role involves managing a team of Asset Protection Supervisors and Security Officers, conducting investigations into theft and fraud, and implementing shrinkage control programs to minimize losses. The manager will also handle human resources responsibilities, including performance appraisals and disciplinary actions, while ensuring the safety and security of the facility.
Responsibilities
? Manage the security function of the Asset Protection department within the distribution center.

? Interview, hire, supervise, and develop Distribution Center Asset Protection Supervisors and Security Officers.

? Plan, organize, and distribute work assignments; monitor security and accident investigations.

? Prepare and conduct performance appraisals for direct reports.
,
? Initiate and conduct disciplinary actions, including terminations, for associates within the assigned area.
,
? Establish and carry out shrinkage control disciplines and programs.
,
? Handle managerial responsibilities concerning Human Resources policies and wage administration, including payroll processing.
,
? Ensure facility security, including locks, fencing, camera systems, and checkpoints.
,
? Investigate theft or fraudulent behavior and make recommendations to reduce loss.
,
? Provide data regarding asset protection issues to management in a timely manner.
,
? Ensure compliance with company standards of safety and facility maintenance.
Requirements
? High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
,
? Three years previous managerial and asset protection experience within a Distribution Center preferred.
,
? Working knowledge of safety and security policies and regulations required.
,
? Ability to operate a personal computer; experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
,
? Skill in verbal and written communications required.
,
? Skill in organizational and time management required.
,
? Must be able to work flexible hours and change schedules with little notice.

? Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate an automobile.
,
? Ability to perform physical activity at a sustained pace including walking, bending, and lifting.
